Basic Page Reader Usage.


Access 2 Place recognise the need for visitors who may have difficulties accessing the site through regular means of a traditional screen display. To that end, we have employed some simple accessability controls, site wide that may make accessing our site easier for you. For the vision impaired, it may be useful to have someone assist you in going over the basic functions of the sites inbuilt reader. Most of which can be accessed via the keyboard. Following is a legend of the controls and functions available and the access keys required to enable the funtion listed.

Access Key. Function Enabled.
P, (ALT-P on a windows keyboard). Starts the reader.
9, (ALT-9 on a windows keyboard). Pauses the reader.
S, (ALT-S on a windows keyboard). Stops the reader.
O, (ALT-O on a windows keyboard). Increase the font size.
U, (ALT-U on a windows keyboard). Decrease the font size.
R, (ALT-R on a windows keyboard). Reset the font size to default.
H, (ALT-H on a windows keyboard). Change screen to high contrast display style 1.
J, (ALT-J on a windows keyboard). Change screen to high contrast display style 2.
K, (ALT-K on a windows keyboard). Change screen to high contrast display style 3.
Note: to turn off the high contrast display, press the same key combination you used to activate it.
0, (ALT-0 on a windows keyboard). Toggle Dyslexic font display.
