International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) 2025

    3 December 2025

Each year, the United Nations invites the world to recognise International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) — a day dedicated to promoting inclusion, understanding and equal opportunity for people with disability.

The theme for 2025, Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress, highlights the importance of meaningful participation in all areas of life, including housing, education, health care, employment and community connection.

At Access 2 Place, this message sits at the heart of what we do. As a community housing provider, we work alongside tenants, families, support coordinators and support providers to deliver accessible and affordable homes that support long-term independence, security and choice.

Last year we celebrated IDPwD with a community event that brought tenants and supporters together. You can watch a short highlight video here.

This year we will be celebrating on Tuesday, 9 December with a Movie Day for tenants, brought to them by A2P’s Tenant Engagement Network (TEN). It will be a relaxed and enjoyable way to mark the day and strengthen connection across our tenant community.

We acknowledge the contributions and experiences of the 5.5 million Australians living with disability, and we remain committed to creating accessible housing solutions and inclusive communities across South Australia.
