Celebrating Edan’s new home this Autism Month
This Autism Month, we’re proud to share a story that reflects what’s possible when homes are designed with the individual at the centre, not just for one person, but for an entire family.
After multiple moves and living in homes that were not suited to his complex needs, Edan and his family needed something different. Not just another house, but a home that truly worked for him.
From the very beginning, Edan played a role in shaping that home. He even created his own hand-drawn floor plan, mapping out what his ideal space would look like. That level of involvement helped guide a home that reflects who he is and what he needs.
Through this co-designed approach, every detail was carefully considered. From choosing colours to features that support his daily life, the result is a home that is both robust and welcoming.
As Edan’s mum shared:
“Each step was carefully crafted to meet Edan’s needs and create a home that will support him for the rest of his life.”
When Edan first saw his new home, he knew straight away. This was his forever home.
For his parents, that moment brought something just as important. Peace of mind. Knowing Edan has a secure, purpose-built home gives them confidence that he has a stable foundation for life.
At Access 2 Place, we provide purpose-built homes designed around the individual, supporting choice, independence and long-term security.
Thank you to Edan and his family for trusting us to be part of their journey.
